HEFCE : Student Opportunity Outcomes Framework Research – Data Return Project

This was one of two related projects to support the development of a framework for better demonstrating the impact of funding to widen participation in higher education. CFE Research worked alongside leading academics in the fields of widening participation and economics.

Higher education providers that receive funding for widening participation (WP) from HEFCE are required to complete an annual return, detailing the expenditure. This project tested the feasibility of developing the annual data return to collect additional data and information to better demonstrate the impact of funding. A pilot data return was developed and tested with 15 higher education providers.
